BIOPHARMA is a Moroccan company specialized in the development, manufacturing and marketing of veterinary vaccines and biological products.
The company collaborates with animal health stakeholders, veterinarians, and breeders to provide effective vaccines for diseases prevention in livestock, farm animals, and pets.
The technologies it has at its disposal and the production premises it houses enable it to manufacture vaccines according to strict quality assurance and biosecurity standards.
To meet the requirements of Moroccan health authorities and to respond to the needs of its national and international clients and customers, BIOPHARMA has adopted a strategy of antigen banks for diseases with national and regional economic impact. It has increased its production capacity to reach 1.2 billion doses per year.
It adapts the formulation of its vaccines according to the epidemiological context and opts for the selection of homologous strains that are compatible with the field circulating strains to ensure safe and effective protection of herds.
Since its creation in 1984, BIOPHARMA has stood out as an efficient national biotechnology center, capable of supporting national decision-makers in the preservation of national animal wealth, to implement and succeed health programs, for animal diseases control and eradication.
This is achieved, on the one hand, thanks to the expertise and proven skills of BIOPHARMA team and on the other hand, following the perfect mastery of specific techniques for rapid diagnosis, research and development of vaccine strains from local isolates and production of vaccines matching with the national epidemiological context, at low costs and of impeccable quality, in accordance with international norms and standards.

GENERAL CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVES OF CREATION OF THE COMPANY
At the beginning of the 1980s, the Moroccan authorities in charge of animal health, aware of the importance of contagious animal diseases and the need for their prevention through the use of effective veterinary vaccines available at any time, implemented a vaccine production unit for veterinary use. The objective was also to generate national added value in the field of high technology making it possible to have products from local strains.
It is in this perspective that the Biological and Pharmaceutical Productions Company BIOPHARMA was created in 1984, thus constituting a permanent tool for prevention made available to the Moroccan State for the fight against contagious animal diseases.
This creation made it possible to meet the needs of health authorities for veterinary vaccines necessary for the prevention and control of contagious animal diseases experienced by Morocco during the 1980s.
MISSIONS
BIOPHARMA Company is, for the Moroccan State, an operational unit that can be mobilized at any time in the context of the prevention and management of animal health crises. In this context, it ensures three main missions :
- Production of specific veterinary vaccines adapted to the dominant pathologies in Morocco.
- Early diagnosis of the main contagious animal diseases.
- Research and development of new vaccines
